Worst...Logo...Ever...

OK so the OKC team name is the Thunder. Not much of a shocker. What is a shocker, kind of, is this logo (I say kind of because a blogger found a leak of it). What is that? It took the geniuses two months to make this. With two months to come up with an original logo, they give us this. This is the most generic WNBAish logo an NBA team has ever had.
This is just terrible and I hope they change it pronto.

OKC Thunder name leaked... again

As NBA.com released the schedule for the up-coming season, they forgot one key factor. They have not officially named the Oklahoma City franchise yet. When the schedule was released online, it listed the Oklahoma City team name as the Thunder.

NBA: Mission (Not) Accomplished

Today, corrupt former NBA ref Tim Donaghy was sentenced to 15 months in jail. The NBA wants you to believe that this was just one bad apple.
That would be believable if he did not make hundreds of phone calls to another ref that is currently still officiating for the NBA. Before this whole ref scandal even came out, fans thought that the league was and still is playing to the bigger market teams. Chicago, the third largest city in the U.S., grabbed the first pick with only a 1.7% chance to do so. That also may be believable if the selection process wasn't behind closed doors. Not only does the NBA not do it the normal way (team with worst record picks first etc.), they decide to run the process where no one but people associated with the NBA can see if it is legit. If Stern wants to resolve the NBA's credibility issue, start with a open door selection process and let the whole world see that there is no monkey business going on in the ping pong ball room.

Three sad tales of players who couldn't stay out of trouble. Where would they be if they had, no one knows. But, hey, we can at least rate them.

3. Booger Smith (video has some strong language)

What??????? He didn't get any money from a documentary about himself? That is a travesty. Anyway, if he had made it to the NBA, his moves would have made him one of the best players of the past decade.

2. Demetrius "Hook" Mitchell-he has to be pretty good to be better than Kidd, even better if he can actually shoot.


1. Earl Manigault- his nickname is The Goat (Greatest Of All Time) for a reason. He may be exactly that.

Better than Wilt and Dr. J, now that is saying something. There is not much video of this guy in action, but with Kareem saying that, there is no doubt he is number one on this list. There is no way of ever knowing but if he had played, there would be a challenger to MJ's spot of the greatest ever to play in the NBA.

These are your viable options for a team name related to Oklahoma and Oklahoma City. I am in no way suggesting that the name should be offensive to anyone in any way, shape, or form.

Why did they give the trophy to this schmo?

There are three possible options for who the hell this man is. Wycliffe Grousbeck, Stephen Pagliuca, or H. Irving Grousbeck. I have never heard of any of these guys so why should they the the trophy? Sure they could be the owners, but I would much rather have someone who I actually know hoist up the trophy for the first. Take a look.

With championship on line, Lakers play like HS team

It was July 31st, 2007 when the whole world saw a much brighter future for the Celtics. GM Danny Ainge made two earth shaking trades. He received Ray Allen from Seattle and Kevin Garnett from Minnesota. Both were aging veterans who both were tired of their losing careers and neither had won a title. Paul Pierce, who dodged trade rumors in Boston, was paired with KG and Allen and were quickly dubbed the "Big 3". Ainge was not done changing the team though. James Posey, P.J. Brown, Sam Cassel would all arrive in Boston as well. With only 24 wins in the 06-07 season many people in Boston were calling for coach Doc Rivers to be fired. The season started with many critics questioning how PG Rajon Rondo and Kendrick Perkins would keep up with the ability of the other three starters. At season's end both had bloomed into treats and not just the other two guys in the starting line-up. The Celtics made a record breaking turnaround and finished with 66 wins.

The 6th game of the Finals started with Boston leading 3-2 over LA. It ended with the Celtics as the champions. Ray Allen finished with 20 3's total in the Finals which broke a record. he also finished with 7 3's in Game 6 which tied the record of 3's in a Finals game. The Celtics as a team finished with 18 steals which broke a record for steals in a Finals game. The final score was Celtics 131- Lakers 92. No that's not a typo, the Celtics beat the Lakers by 39 points. 39! That margin of victory was only 2 points short of the record 42 points that the Bulls beat the Jazz by in a 1998 Finals game. Obviously, this game was not even close. With 4:55 left in the game the crowd was already singing Na Na Na Na, Na Na Na Na, Hey Hey Hey, Goodbye!

In Phil Jackson's press conference his voice was nearly nullified by the noise of the fans that were still celebrating in stands. That sums up the series. The Lakers were over-powered by the Celtics. In all of Game 6, the Lakers grabbed only 2 offensive rebounds. No, that's not a typo either. They were terrible on defense also. Glen "Big Baby" Davis,
was past the ball at half court and "flew" by all of the Lakers and proceeded to jam it on some dude's dome. A man that big should not be able to breeze past all of the defenders like he did (289 lbs.). All in all, the Lakers did not deserve to be on the court.
